GameJack v5.0.2.8 Quick Guide
This is the quick guide to help you out with the new version of GameJack.
We are going to test the new version of GameJack with Farcry on DVD to see how it works.
First I did scan the disc of FarCry to see which copy protection it has with A-Ray Scanner to see if the
scanner of Gamejack would find the same results as A-Ray Scanner v2.0.23 would.

A-Ray Scanner found SafeDisc v3.20, lets scan the same disc again with GameJack to see if GameJack can find the same results as A-Ray Scanner did.
As you can see GameJack finds the same copy protection, this is very important than you know with which copy
protection you are dealing. GameJack allows the information found by the copy protection scanner to be set to the copy settings which should
make a better copy possible.
Let's make a copy of the DVD, and show a bit how GameJack works.

In this screen you can select from which device you prefer to read and to which device you prefer to write.
Even if you have a reader and a burner in the system GameJack will at all times make an Image of the CD/DVD first.
Keep this in mind that you need to have up to max. 9.4GB of free space on your harddrive. Most games are still not bigger than 4,7GB luckily.
Personally I think that many people like to know why it is not possible to copy the CD/DVD on the fly, reading copy protections is sometimes are
very time consuming thing, and to keep CD/DVD-Rom writer wait a very long time on data is not very good thing.
Even if burners have buffer underrun protection it is still better to burn the hole CD/DVD in 1 run than with many buffer underrun preventions.

In the screen above you can see the progress of the FarCry DVD Reading Process. In the screen below you can see the progress of the writing process.

The DVD was copied perfectly, lets see if the game wants to run. The picture bellow shows the boot screen of the copy which we made of the original DVD.

So far so good, now lets see if the game wants to be installed of the copy.

The installation process did Finish without any problems at all, but now most the most important thing will the game run of the copied dvd.

As you can see the game would not run of the copied DVD to solve this you can also use GameJack by using the Game Starter.
The Game Starter is a very important feature of the new version of GameJack, Game Starter helps you to play games of the back-up CD/DVD which are protected
with SafeDisc, Securom and ProtectCD.

In the game starter menu you can add the game you did install from the copied dvd and start the game from there.

As shown in the screen below, you can select the game and press the green play button to start the game.

Incase the game doesn't want to run with the default settings of Game Starter than enable the Extended Emulation mode (see also the picture below).
At least it solved the not wanting to boot issue with FarCry (which uses SafeDisc v3.20)

If you have done this than the game should run fine. Without the Extended Emulation the result was that the game asked for the original DVD (see picture below).
It is pretty easy to overlook this option in the Game Starter that is why we did give it extra attention to make sure you will not miss it.
