"Media not ready" error message

Win XP Home SP2 I inserted a new DVD+R media into my NEC DVD+RW but windows cant see the disc! "Please Insert disc" it says when I click on the drive in explorer. The same with RW media. When I try to burn to it using Intervideo DVD Copy, it says "Media not ready" This is a new problem as Ive burned many dvd discs before without this happening. Any help welcome

Hi manhar Welcome to our forums. Was this is happening pre SP2? Is this the same media that used to work? Have you flashed your drive lately? More details will help us work out your issue.

Nope. I have had no problems after SP2 installation 2 months ago Have copied DVds without problems since. Cant think of anything Ive done recently to explain this.

Hello, I'm having the same problem, not being able to burn, have "media is not ready" come up. I have Win XP, SP2 and was burning with that system fine using InterVideo DVDCopy2, now out of nowhere the error message pops up. Am still using the exact same DVD-Rs to burn on. I use DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0 Any idea what's going on out there??? lydia23

We would like to investigate your case more seriously, can you contact the support or at least post your log file ? just tell me the brand of your dvd writer and dvd media.
