I have the lastest version of Copy to DVD 3.0.38, and my burner is SONY 530A (done firmware update also) which is capable recor DVD_R at 8X. I also use 8X recording media. However, it always recored at near 4X speed, not 8X. Could anyone tell me what else I should do? Thanks!

Althought the media may be rated at 8X alot of burning applications will use what it considers the best speed without making a coaster. This may not be true to your problem but the only way to check is with other media or another burning application. Although other burning applications will allow 8X no matter what. Another thing to check is your DMA status
