After using DRM for a little while now I've come up with a couple suggestions. I have been running into the same clunky interface design over and over so I thought I'd speak up. 1 - When I click on Titles in a VTS and then right click to Add chapter and select the Program it's really frustrating to have to do this one at a time, especially when there are no keyboard shortcuts I can use to blindly step through it. However, it is a nice touch that the cursor is on the next Program in sequence when the selection screen pops up. What I'd like is either an "add all programs as chapters" or to use the Windows ability to highlight multiple items and add them all in bulk. 2 - On a similar note, I'd like the ability to highlight multiple commands and operate on them at once. Primarily I want to select many or all commands and delete them. Deleting 50 commands from the pre section of a PGC one at a time is a nuisance. Even allowing the "del" key to delete commands would be helpful. 3 - I'd really like the ability to delete objects. I hate it when I add a new PGC or program and then realize I don't need it and can't delete it. I guess I'm anal about having all the extra objects lying around even though I know they don't really take much space. Perhaps objects that were imported could only be hidden but objects that were manually added during the session could also be removed? That is, assuming there's a good reason for not deleting the imported objects in the first place.

I suggested this before, multiple selection of commands is on to do list.

Could be useful but 0.01MB for a added PGC isn't much hé Wink

One more little nit to pick.... When I'm adding a command and it's a compare or set instruction, the first drop down box defaults to the topmost value, which happens to be R[0]. However I find it slightly annoying that the second selector also defaults to R[0] even though the "value" selection is above it. I don't like having to scroll up to select "value". I think the topmost line should be the default. It's quicker to select a lower value than it is to scroll up to a higher one. Of course, this is just an annoyance to me because I seem to be using "value" a lot.

just about the same feeling from me as a few changes could speed up authoring quite a bit 1. It would be great if when you add a copied VTS DRM automatically adds all the Titles to the VMG Titles. When you add a copied PGC it adds the Title to the Titles in the VTS and adds the Chapters to the Title and finally adds the Title to the VMG Titles 2. the delete button would be fine, maybe an option to delete all commands also 3. yep, it would be nice to have the delete option for something you added by mistake and I know what you mean about the value thing Wink

1, 2, and "value" seems to be not that dificult to implement. Will put it at the top of the "to do" list. "delete" should be postponed till everything else is in place. Thing is: deleting requires changing navigation (which is not a problem, DRM does it in quite many "actions") and in some cases it will be required to change links/jumps/calles to something -invalid- when the action brakes navigation (for example if you've deleted a PGC and there are chapters in some title reffering to programs in deleted PGC). Again changing is not a problem - but we think it will be more user friendly if DRM will show bad commands and will let user jump to them and fix manually. This is what will take time to implement and most probably will come with/before Debuger implemented, may be even in ver 3, who knows.

Thanks Dimad, sounds good to me and I look forward to it Very Happy I know exactly what you mean about deleting stuff Wink. I think our concern here is the deleting of the stuff mistakenly added during editing for those who like tinkering with the DVD. If you add stuff manually then removing it again won't affect the DVD as much. The user probably knows what he has done so far anyway and will correct anything that needs correcting. No rush for this one as hiding them is around 8-10kb per cell extra cell added anyway but as GlacierRacing mentions it's the fact they are there when you don't want them Very Happy

Thanks Dimad!! I too look forward to the changes. Just to clarify #2 a little, it's not only multi-line delete I want but also multi-line copy/paste. I understand the sensitivity to allowing the deletion of objects. It certainly shouldn't be allowed in the non-Pro version. Perhaps it could be an option that you have to enable so that people couldn't do it inadvertantly?
