WRITE SECTOR FAILED AT SECTOR 28880 (16) CODE 040902

HI i hava a aopen dvrw 2412 pro dvd burner but i have tryied diffrent media trying to burn dvds in copy to dvd without sucsess.I get the code write sector failed at sector 28880 (16) code 040902 (hw error focus servo failure. what am a doing wrong. P.S HOPE FOR A FAST ANSWER

Hi peter and welcome to the forum This error could be due to the media you are using. What media are you using and what version of CopyToDVD do you have plz? Also pease ensure you have the latest firmware for your writer - all this will rule any other possible problems so that we can see if it is indeed a true CopyToDVD error problem.

i have a trial version of copytodvd3 iam using sony dvd+r 4.7gb 1-4speed.yes i have the latest firmware 1.64

Sony DVD media should be of the highest quality and i wold almost 99% rule out bad media if you are only using Sony ( unless of course it is a rogue bad batch but this would be very rare ). Out of interest do u run Nortons AV?

No i use panda av titanium.i also have been on video help website and lookt on my burner and there people have used verbatim medi and i should work but not for me geting a little frustreided.can i use clone dvd insted
