I've done a fresh install of Win XP Pro with SP2 (slipstreamed). And now I just plain can't seem to burn a DVD. I drag my files (or add them using the toolbar) and it takes 4+ hours for them to be added to Copy 2 DVD. If I cancel it and try to close an Error appears and I can't even Kill the task - although ALT+F4 closes the app without any error. Is this an SP2 issue? It was fine before. I have sent this issue in via email using the VSO support form, but haven't had a response after 2 days, so am posting here instead.

Hi chrisnoden and welcome to the forum. Im sure VSO are looking into your request but some things you could try seeing as you have done a fresh install is to check in your device manager under your ide controllers and check that your not running in PIO mode for any devices you have on your IDE Channels. If they are in PIO mode see if you can enable DMA. If this does not work try the latest chipset drivers for your board.

Problem is, Copy 2 DVD isn't getting as far as attempting to burn. It's the adding files to the list that it's slow at. I wouldn't have thought that was related to the DVD.

i was thinking your harddrives might be in pio mode hence the checking of all ide channels as i do not know your system configuration. This also could be a bug but it is elimating ide problems this way - especially after you have done a fresh install and may of forgot a driver you may need Smile

This could be related to problems some people are seeing with DVD Shrink and SP2. You can read the fixes they tried here http://forum.digital-digest.com/sho...?threadid=36774

It doesn't seem related. They are having problems launching the DVD shrink application. I am having a problem adding files to the project on Copy 2 DVD. I can launch the application just fine. I have checked my settings and my hard disk is running at DMA Mode 5. Any other ideas?? I'm happy to accept this is likely a SP2 problem, but I could really do with knowing for sure and if there is a fix (or a fix in the pipeline). I do have a gold membership to VSO - does that swing any weight ?? Chris
