|
|
| Ive used 95 pro for years without problem on two different laptops. I just got a new HP dv4t with a Bluray ROM/ DL RW+/- combo drive. DVD95 does not show any burner available when I ripped a regular dvd (not BD). I have a Optiarc BD ROM BC 5500S ATA Device but it dosent register in the program. It will rip but not burn. Any Ideas? Thanks |

Hi tubby,
This sounds like a problem for digi. it may be that he needs to update the program to recognize this burner.
i just bought a new hp too. |

| Just talked to a bud of mine and he is having the same problem. laptop with a Blue Ray burner. Worked fine up until then but now won't recognize the burner. Itmust have something to do with Blue Ray, and VD 95 copy not being compatiable |

i also have a blu ray burner(an LG),but i am not sure if i have tried burning with it or not. i thought i did,but i will check when i get home.
either way, digi will have to update his program to acommodate these new burners.
so,what proggy are we using to rip blu rays with guys?
I'm using anydvd.
I tried dvdfab, but as far as i can tell,it does not work as advertised.
I hope there is a dvd95copy for bluray. how about blu-ray4010copy ?

tubby,
just an after thought, is the region set on your new drive? this could be a problem. try playing a standard dvd and set the region if it asks you to. |

My device manager says its set at region 1. I have no trouble playing either regular dvd's or BD's. My dirve shows up under source when ripping, but the space for the burner on dvd95 copy is blank. Thanks. |

Hey jwo62
So Dvdfab doesn't do what it says.... now that is interestng. I personally haven't gone the Blu-ray route yet. I'm just not convinced that it's the way to go, but I g uess my options will likely be limited in the near future:( A buddy of mine offered me a Blu-ray burner in exchange formatting and setting up his new machine so maybe I'll take him up on it, and come reluctantly into the 21st century. You say that anydvd works ok? |

yes,anydvd"hd" works perfectly.
I too am relutant about blu ray.
standard dvds are going to be around a long time to come in my opinion.
bluray isnt going to catch on like dvds did. you just dont gain that much, unless you want to go out and buy a whole new home entertainment system for many thousands of $$$. |

I wonder if it could be the burners firmware? My buddies is a toshiba , so it isn't just HP. SO nice to just stick to the simplicity of a Dvd |

| Well, DVDFAB seems to recognize my burner without problems, so for now I'm going to use that until an update occurs with 95copy. Thanks for the replies so far. |

an update for your burner may never appear if you dont send digi a problem report describing the issue and make and model of your burner.
