Hi all.
I would like to know if it is possible to make a multi-lingual DVD using custom language names.
For example, instead of selecting 'English', 'French' etc for audio playback, you can specify custom language names to be selectable on the DVD during playback, like 'Audio1', 'Audio2' etc
This is for subjective evaluation research. A listener will be in a car selecting between different streams of audio, and a multi-lingual DVD seems to be a good solution. But I want them to be able to select custom names, rather than languages. This is important when not clouding a listeners judgement of a certain fidelity.
I am using software which will author DVD's with multiple languages, but there are always lists of languages to allocate audio to. Is this part of the DVD standard?
I cannot find any infomation about this by googling. I hope I explained this ok! Cheers.

Not sure why you want to use custom language names to be like 'Audio1', 'Audio2', instead of 'English', 'French'. Isn't specifying the language name of an audio track more descriptive? I'd be irritated to see Audio1, Audio2, etc. when scrolling through during playback and listen to know what language track it is.

If you insist, you can change the audio track attribute (under Language drop-down list of Audio attributes dialog) to "Not Specified" in the IFO using IfoEdit in both VTS_0x_0.IFO and VIDEO_TS.IFO. Save. The player in effect will display its default name (Audio1 or Unknown) during playback.
