Newbie -Trial Version questions

Hello Folks, Just starting to use a DVD writer (was fine with using CD writer) however, having some challenges with DVD. I have downloaded the trial version of copydvd to see if it meets by needs which primarily is backing-up my hard drive. DVD Model: LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160H6S came with my HP A1540N computer. However, there are only 2 folders that only have a couple small files, got copied to the dvd. I didn't get any error messages. The folder I was copying is 1.8Gig Is the trial version limited in how much gets copied? THANK YOU for any help
