there is no need I think to test it with copytodvd v3, since I had on my work computer v3 and it did it with 8x on the asme Media. How ever look what I discovered. I installed the v4 version on my dad's computer, he has lit-on burner and everything is fine I can choose different speeds and the burn process went fine. So my suspect is that the new version doesn't cope well with the old ritech burner I have at work. Thing is the old version 3 did maange to burn discs on this burner without problems, I can install it back instead of version 4 and show you. So even though version 4 work well on my dad's computer, there is still some fixing nee to be done to make it work on all drives as version 3 did. you probably ask your self why am I not installing it on my own computer Question well untill this version is stable i'll keep on using version 3 Smile but if more testing need to be done, I'll uninstall it and install version 4. here is the v4 log file on my dad's machine you can see that the log say the media can be burned in Available write speed: 52x, 48x, 40x, 32x, 24x, 16x, 12x, 10x, 8x, 4x 29/09/2006 15:07:15 info ******************** Report session closed ********************* 29/09/2006 15:07:15 critical Process cancelled 29/09/2006 15:06:35 info Write completed 29/09/2006 15:06:35 info Average speed 13.74x Reference 1x = 150.00 kbps 29/09/2006 15:06:35 info Total burning time 00:03:41.032 29/09/2006 15:02:58 info Lead-in burning time (mS) 7517 29/09/2006 15:02:51 info Start Write Buffer 29/09/2006 15:02:51 info Start writing... 29/09/2006 15:02:51 info Buffer under-run proof enabled 29/09/2006 15:02:51 info Writing speed requested x16, effective x16 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Writing session #1 and keeping disc writable. 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Open Image file "C:\Documents and Settings\1\Application Data\CopyToDvd\COPYTODVD_09292006_150250_468.cache" 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Required sector size : 207120 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Available sector size : 359999 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Available write speed: 52x, 48x, 40x, 32x, 24x, 16x, 12x, 10x, 8x, 4x 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Media ID: Plasmon-9 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Multisession is enabled in filesystem 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Blank or incomplete CD-R 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Detected media $0009 : CD-R 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Finished browsing files - Data size 404 Mb. 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info File scan complete: 1 files, 0 directories 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Start Browsing file structures 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info IDE Controler manufacturer : Intel 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info IDE Controler Description : Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Location : PCI bus 0, device 31, function 1 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Support Media : CD-R, CD-RW 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Writing device used : 0:1:0 - LITE-ON CD-RW SOHR-5238S 4S06 [D] (Ide) 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Using Patin-Couffin driver Version 1.36, Internal revision 36 - Async. Hey, Maybe its time to ask Santa for a new burner at work Twisted Evil On recent drives (CD/DVD), v4.0.0.38 is performing like a pro. Just too bad for some reason the support for your old burner changed. Let's see what VSO says about the support in v3 and not in v4 Shocked UPDATE: Humm...
Quote:
29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Available write speed: 52x, 48x, 40x, 32x, 24x, 16x, 12x, 10x, 8x, 4x 29/09/2006 15:02:50 info Media ID: Plasmon-9
And this is from YOUR log:
Quote:
27/09/2006 09:41:43 info Available write speed: 32x 27/09/2006 09:41:43 info Media ID: Plasmon-8

Hi tabbi, it's not the same media but i did swiched media at work and still only 32x, the second media was memorex up to 52x, so the problem are not in the media but in the way copytodvd support the burner. I have 2 burners at home (sony, pioneer 111d brand new) I may uninstall copytodvd v3 and try the new v4 to see how it's cope with those 2 burners. 10x Elad
