Chapter maintenance Having done quite a few sat-tv recordings of summer festival events I would have needed chapter generation and maintenance funtions to place chapters in sync with the audio and to remake the placement of chapter entry points in my authored DVDs. In these projects and optimal placement of chapter entry points with respect to the audio is essential. The frame number (or pgc-time) in the preview would be of great help for exact placement of the chapter points. A Move Chapter feature would be of great help to correct the placement of those chapter entry points which, on replay with the DVD player, are still not on the correct position with respect to what you hear in the audio track. The plain user using his (standalone and/or software) DVD player, deals with chapters and titles and not with cells and programs. Therefore it from a user's point of view it is very important to have chapter maintenance features for remaking of DVD titles. So, I pledge for the following: 1. Add frame number to preview, please! To place chapters in sync with the audio a fully working preview function which allows preview of video and audio in perfect sync is a must. Since this is not really guaranteed in DRMP now and, apparently, Dimad has no time to supply it in the near future, I have asked for this useful workaround ( see http://cdr-zone.com/forum/about4703.html ). The frame number would be very comfortable to easily and quickly locate the exact 'Split Here' location at DRP's side. Without frame number display (as it is now) it can be quite nerve straining to find the correct location. In http://cdr-zone.com/forum/about5594.html to include a timecounter is suggested. I prefer the equivalent framecounter (frame-number). The framenumbering should be consistent with the framenumbering of the other state of the art programs like IfoEdit, PgcEdit, DVD-lab, Mpeg2Schnitt, Cuttermaran, Project-X, etc. I guess, this answers DmadSoft's question which time (framenumber) to show. 2. Add a Move Chapter function, please: In addition to frame-numbering moving a given chapter entry point by some I-frames would be a very useful additional feature of DRMP. DVD-lab Pro has two nice funtions for fine-tuning of chapter locations: "Move Chapter to Previous I-frame" "Move Chapter to Next I-frame" These functions can be executed more than once, thus allowing to move the location of the chapter point in I-frame hops. You may suggest to use the split funtion. But the split function is not always a useful solution: Moving by only one or two I-frames may generate too small chuncks. Splitting always generates additional cells and/or programs. This is not the intention of the "Move chapter to Previuos/Next I-frame" operation. Move Chapter should change the size of the previous and of the current cell and not the number of cells. 3. Let me lead your attention to that thread too, please: http://cdr-zone.com/forum/about3537.html Generally, I would be very happy if I could see some progress in the field of chapter maintenance. Thank you. Keep up your good work.
