| Hi I would just like to put my weight behind request for more demuxing/remuxing support in DVDRemake Pro... Currently I use NuMenu4U and DoItFast4U (+Sonic Scenerist) plus a little homegrown AutoIt Script (using Lame and Scenerist AC3 Encoder) to demux, compress and remux AC3 audio tracks. It would be v. useful to me if DVD Remake Pro had a facility for demuxing and remuxing audio tracks. Put it this way I have only used the new debugging facilities about twice I think but I generally compress down directors comments and extra audio tracks to mono AC3 (56kbit is useable versus 192kbit AC3 stereo which saves a lot of space!!) The problem with using Sonic Scenerist is that it doesn't like taking menu VOBs that have been mangled by the newer DVDRemake Pro versions (some obscure DRMP bug I think) and is generally very slow and tempermental!! I mean I have to rebuild the full DVD from scratch just to alter the audio tracks (when changing main title audio streams). Also v. few people can afford a copy of Scenerist (!!) Being able to demux and remux button subtitle streams might be useful but of course gets fiddly for Widescreen menus with dual streams for Pan/Scan and Letterboxed. Anyone else out there that would find this useful?? Bob Wya |

This probably gets away from the central theme of DRMP. What's wrong with DvdRebuilder Pro and MuxMan Pro? Audio reencoding is discussed in Rebuilder forum. Just it's a suggestion, feel free to let your wish be heard. |

| Hi I haven't tried using Muxman... Is it any good? I don't mind using NuMenu4u/DoItFast4U but DRMP quite often breaks the DVD when I re-encode (like subtitles over scene breaks and highlight pallette problems) so I really have to use the 'virigin' .iso with these progs... Need to get the dual Opteron beast up and running that should make short work of this stuff!! I will check out Muxman maybe it would be useful for simple audio reencodes when I don't really want to re-built the whole DVD from scratch!! (Scenerist takes ages processing all the Subtitle bitmaps for main titles... I thought it had crashed when I first started using it!!) Thanks!! Bob Wya |
