Hi folk- My friends have bought a DR-810 but the book seems pretty useless for our problem. We cannot get the menu on the screen that allows the erasing of the disc. They have discs that say they are re-writable on the box, but the menu we want is hidden from us. Thanks for any help. tobsa 80

Hi tossa80 and welcome to our forums. The easiest way I have found for most drives is to use Nero CD DVD Speed (http://www.cdr-zone.com/software/media_testing_tools/nero_cd-dvd_speed.html ). Select your drive in the dropdown box and goto extra>>erase disc. Let us know if this helps for your particular drive Smile

Hi folks, The problem that my friends have, is that the menu with the "erase" option, doesn`t appear on their TV screen. the DVD`s that they are using are labeled as being re-writable. Thanks. Tobsa80

Hi tobsa80 I dont think SirQUK realised you were referring to a Cello set top box DVDR, When dealing with Rewritable discs the keywords to look for in menus are "Format" and "Delete". On a RW disc if you make 2 recordings you can Delete one or both to free off space. To make a disc blank again you can Format it. Hope this helps

Hi folks, I`ve discovered the cause of the problem--- mis-labeled DVD`s. My friends were using Memorex RW DVD`s, which came in a pack of five, so I bought one re-writable disc (Mitsubishi) for a £1, put it in the recorder and recorded something. The RW DVD menu with the erase option, appeared when we tried to delete the recording. Thanks again for all your help and suggestions. tobsa80
