I noticed that some DVD's have multiple Dolby 2.1 tracks, in addition to one Dolby 5.1 and most of the time one DTS track. Why the multiple Dolby 2.1 tracks? I've started un-selecting them to make more room for the DTS. So far, no problem. I do want my burnt DVD's to be playable on most players and need the 2.1 track. Thanks for any replies!

Usually the multi 2.0 tracks are for extras, trailers etc. Not all main movie titles are done in 5.1 or DTS, just 2.0 on most B movies.

One other thing I would add to Mr_Fixers reply: Quite often they can be audio commentaries for the specific title. Checking the audio menu on your dvd can confirm this.

Do you folks setup your Nero Recode profile to select "All Tracks" when analyzing the DVD, and then select what you want? In the example I gave above, all of the 2.1 Dolby tracks were the same size: around 113Mb each. I would have thought they would have been a different size if they had been commentaries, trailers, etc. Thanks!

I have come across quite a few dvds that contain 3 or 4 commentaries for a perticular titleset on the dvd. These are usually the same size too. Quite often it can be foriegn audio too.

I must admit to not using Recode very often Embarassed By the time I have removed all the stuff I don't want with DvdRemake, I usually use 1ClickDvdCopy or CloneDVD to compress as I have them to hand on the review system. I would analayze all tracks for sure - Its best to know whats there in detail and remove undeeded stuff rather than miss something to save a few seconds Smile
