Hi there At the moment I'm the trial user of this program. I'm trying to burn DVD+R DL (Verbatims). So far I've had two coasters which burned successfully but they simply freezes on both my Pioneer and JVC standalone. Its right in the middle of the dvd that they freeze, so I guess its got something to do with layer breaks. My steps was as follows: 1. Ripped dvd in file mode to harddrive. 2. Stripped unnessesary audio/video tracks with Dvdshrink (Dvdshrink removed what was origionally a layer break) 3. Reauthored a bit with Dvdremake Pro (warnings etc.) 4. Created a image with imgtool Then first I tried burning the image with Dvddecrypter, which made it freeze at what might be a layer break?? 2nd I tried burning the image with "CopyToDvd". It freezed a bit later than before but still at the place which might be the layer break. I'm testing now doing the "create dvd video" and adding the files, hopefully that will work, cause during burning it tells me something about where the layer break will be. My question is how can I burn it successfully if all I have is a folder with a VIDEO_TS and a AUDIO_TS folder?? And will a remove of the original layer break cause problems?? I have to make this work, before buying the product. But it seems very cool. /Julius

Hi there, Playback freezing, skipping etc... issues are usualy related to burned too fast and cheap media, specialy with Single Layer Media. You have good media, are those are Dual Layers. What speed are you burning those media ? Dual Layer are usualy 2.4x or 4x ? Try to burn them at the lowest speed. Do you have the latest firmware installed on your DVD burner ? You are using the latest CopyToDVD v3.1.1 ? Provide us with a full log, maybe we can see something in there.

Just create a Video DVD. CopyToDVD will prompt you to load the VIDEO_TS.IFO file, and will load the rest for ya, then burn. As for the layer break, the software should take care of this, user should have nothing to configure for the layer break (So I was told, since I never burned a Dual Layer media). If you used DVDShrink, are you shrinking it to fit on a DVD5 ? (Single Layer) ? If you have using Dual Layer media, the whole DVD should fit on it, without the need of using DVD Shrink. Just use DVD Decrypter, in File Mode (Video_TS / Audio_TS) then burn with CopytoDVD OR Rip in ISO Mode, then burn with DVD Decrypter. No need to compress or remove anything, Dual Layer media should/will hold everthing from the original. My 2 cents...

I use Verbatim Dual Layer medias DVD+R DL and I only burn at 2.4 speed so that is not the problem. I have the latest firmware for my brand new Pioneer 110D Actually I think problem is already solved, as I tried loading the Video_ts and Audio_ts folders into the program. I stripped un-nessesary warnings etc. from this one (The movie is "Das Boot") and loaded the VIDEO_TS.IFO file into the program. I let it run on repeat all night long and it did not freeze. By the way, the movie that did freeze played flawlessly in one of my buddies very expensive dvd players. Maby that player is not as sensitive on how layer breaks are made. But the movie froze on both my Pioneer and JVC. Will try with another one tonight. The problem might be that before this movie I created an image with imgtool and tryed to burn it with both Dvddecrypter and CopyToDVD. Maby the program is not able to set the layer break correctly when loading images?? At least it seems that file mode is working. I believe its the latest version if the program that I use. The latest trial version at least. By the way read what I found here, It seems I'm not the only one who had these problems: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=104152 Tell me what you think guys. /Julius

@Julius The problem could be to do with a less than perfect recording to your media. I have encountered some Double Layer media that causes such skips at layer break. Also you may be correct with your ISO theory. When dvddecrypter rips a dvd in iso mode it creates a md5 file that contains the layer break info that perhaps img tool is not doing. Thats why copytodvd and decrypter maybe create videos that freeze on some players from ISO files. For now at least you can make perfect videos using the create video dvd method Smile U can extract the audio and video directories out of the iso image and see if reburning that with file mode creates a working dvd.

Just burned one more movie on a Verbatim DVD+R DL using the "Create Video DVD" method. It seems that with this program it works flawlessly! So I guess I was right about the ISO theory. Thanx for your repley /Julle
