I upgraded to 4.2.1.2 yesterday when I got home. After trying to backup a movie (I have a 15 month old son and need to backup just about everything) it copied it just fine, but upon burning it gave me an error and burned a coaster. I burned about 10 coasters as I went back and forth from 4.2.0.9 to try and burn and then back to 4.2.1.2. Please help...this is Making me nuts. Please note that rebooted several times and cleared my cache. The error has been: Write error at 181792 (16) - Code 03 0C 09 [Write error, loss of streaming (CD Media doesn't support that speed)] and Write error at 600352 (16) - Code 03 0C 09 [Write error, loss of streaming (CD Media doesn't support that speed)] Over and over again errors of this nature. I also get: Available write speed: x8.0, x6.0, x4.0 even when I switched from my Verbatim 8x to Sony 4x (which obviously does not support 8x. Also: Buffer Underrun proof not detected...should it be? I add that I have updated the Firmware on my Plextor PX-716A to 1.08. I tried to change the speed on CopytoCD from Max to 4x. None of this works. PLEASE HELP. thanks. Hi, I have hear that some Plextor drives do not like the packet writing mode to burn on DVD-R. Try to switch to SAO (Seesion-At-Once writing mode) using this procedure: Open the CopyToDVD application by clicking on your Windows operating system "Start" button and browse through your list of all programs. You should be able to find a folder called "vso". In this folder, there should be a sub-folder called "CopyToDVD". Finally, you can click on the CopyToDVD application (this is the free application that comes with 1Click and uses the same burning engine). Click on the "Cancel" button to close the "Create new project" window. Then, access the settings menu by clicking on "Options" of the menu and choose "CopyToDVD settings". Go to the "Writing devices" tab. Make sure that the option called "DVD-R SAO first" option IS selected. Click on "OK" to close the CopyToDVD Settings window. Close the CopyToDVD Manager window. Norm

AHA...a response I will try (though I do not know what it means I did see that setting in the copytodvd prog). My question...why all of a sudden? So successful (about 50 times) prior to this problem! Also, I thought plextor was pretty much the best...are they aware of this problem? I will give it a shot though and really appreciate the response. Will this in anyway impact my disc? It will still be compatible with all my dvd players yes?
