Gents, I have been using CopytoDVD for over a year now and things have been going great. I recently updated my version to the latest (4 Apr 05) and things went pear shaped. I have a Sony DRU-510AK with latest firmware (1.1a), I have completely deleted any version of CopytoDVD and reinstalled many different versions, my DMA channels are open and working fine, the DVD reads DVDs and CDs fine, no deterioration, I have cleaned the lens many times (both with a CD cleaner and physically), the Patin-Couffin driver is the latest (1.2Cool and I am now at a loss as I cannot burn data or video images with the following message. I am using TDK DVD-R (1-8X) media and have never had problems with them, I have tried burning at different speeds, I start the burns in a stable position Write error at 2256 (16) - Code 03 73 03 [Medium error, Power calibration fail (CD-burner is dirty)] Here is my log: 5/04/2005 6:21:58 PM info ********** Report session closed *********** 5/04/2005 6:21:45 PM info Finalizing CD.. 5/04/2005 6:21:45 PM error Write error at 2256 (16) - Code 03 73 03 [Medium error, Power calibration fail (CD-burner is dirty)] 5/04/2005 6:20:58 PM info Lead-in burning time (mS) 3 5/04/2005 6:20:58 PM info Starting write buffer 5/04/2005 6:20:58 PM info Starting to write... 5/04/2005 6:20:58 PM info Buffer under-run proof enabled 5/04/2005 6:20:58 PM info Init success: DVD-R SAO 5/04/2005 6:20:58 PM info Writing speed requested x4.0, effective x4.0 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Writing session #1 and closing disc. 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Open Image file "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\CopyToDvd\COPYTODVD_04052005_182057_125.cache" 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Required sector size : 2162320 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Available sector size : 2298496 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Available write speed: x4.0, x2.0, x1.0 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Media ID: TTG02 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info 120mm DVD 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Detected media $0011: DVD-R 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Finished browsing files - Data size 4.12 Gb. 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Start Browsing file structures 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info IDE Controler manufacturer : Intel 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info IDE Controler Description : Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Supported Media: DVD-R, DVD-RW Seq., DVD-RW RO, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R, CD-RW 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Writing device used: 1:0:0 - SONY DVD RW DRU-510A 1.1a [E] (Ide) 5/04/2005 6:20:57 PM info Using Patin-Couffin driver Version 1.28, Internal revision 28 - Async. Hi Tamara and welcome to our forums. A few users have reported an issue between their sony drives and the latest version of copytodvd. Hopefully this can be tracked down and fixed very soon.

Hi neneago I was not aware of any Pioneer issues. Have you tried the latest version to see if the problem persists for you? I am keen to find out the issue here as are VSO. Could users with issues please post their brand of media ( datasafe/verbatim etc) that is causing these issues.
