|
|
| Hi, I've just converted my .avi file into mpeg2 (which is the format for SVCD I believe?) using DVD2SVCD. Then I mounted the two .cue file onto DaemonTools to test out the image. I found out that each image files were around 700mb, which means I'll need 2 CDRs for the whole movie. The question is, isn't SVCD supposed to fit in one CDR?? What did I do wrong here? |

| if you want to fit it on 1cdr, then you need to goto bitrate tab and set tit to 1cd:) by default it does 2cds and sometimes 3cds for the longer films |

Oh ookay thanks a lot man Another question: I've encoded my movie to the default folder ../DVD2SVCD/Movies . After I've burnt the movie onto a CDR, can I delete EVERYTHING under that "movie" folder? It's taking up quite a lot of space :-p [Edit: Also, if I set it to encode onto 1 CDR only, would the picture quality drop?] |

Thanks a lot for all your help . I've run into a problem, however. I tried to convert a .avi file of about 110 minutes long, and it was converting fine until it was "multiplexing" under the "bbMPEG" component. It was stuck at 75%. I've given the whole converting process of around 10 hours to run, so I don't think the program was doing anything anymore. Any idea why this is happening? |

| I thought you could only get 80 mins on a VCD and 33 - 40 mins on an SVCD. Better quality means larger file size. Correct me if I`m wrong tho. |

| Run the movie through DVD2avi, this will put the file in an avi container, which allows tmpgenc to handle easily. Then run the avi through tmpgenc and select the birate to 1 cd............however this can mean a severe drop in quality if the file is big...your best bet is too put it over 2 cd's or the necessary amount tmpgenc selects for you..........this has been mentioned above already! then burn with nero or the burning program of your choice. |
