Panasonic dvd not playing burnt discs.

Im new to all this so hope someone can help me. I have a Panasonic s-35 and also s- 75 dvd players. Approx 70% of discs I have got which were burnt it refused to play. This week I started making discs myself with a Sony burner using Nero and Clone and in both cases they will not play back on the players. They play through the computer and have tried them on a friends Denver DVD player without any problem. Is there anything I can do to increase the chance of future discs playing? I rang the Panasonic helpline and all they could suggest was to try their own discs. Thank you Andrew

Hi Andy69 ans welcome to our forums. Panasonic players are notorius for being fussy about what media it will read. I know it will play Taiyo Yuden dvdr ok. With DVD players being so cheap nowadays maybe it is time to get a new one or use the Taiyo Yuden media( such as Plextor )

Thank you for answering. It looks like it might be best to buy another dvd player even thou this Panasonic is only a year old so its annoying but I have little choice. Can anyone recomend any brand name of machine which hasnt failed playing back any burnt discs ( cheaper the better) as I will use it just for viewing the burnt discs and keep Panasonic as main player? I have had good luck with players such as This one. Plays most things, can be made multi region free, has good firmware support and plays pretty much anything you may throw at it.
