|
|
Hey all, not to infringe on a prevoius poster's request(from 2005 lol) located here: http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2639&highlight=layer It would be nice to easily find edit them in that manner yet, however, my request is slightly different. As we have a feature for stripping angles, I would like request/suggest that a similar feature be created for stripping/removing layer breaks. I don't know how hard that would be to implement, but I just thought it would be very handy to have. Thanks for all the great work DimadSoft! Z

| I don't know what software you use to transcode with, but in DVD Shrink you have an option to remove layer breaks. |

| Well really I'd also like to have it for when no transcoding is necessary. When I can remove enough things with remake so that it will fit without being reencoded, I'd like to also remove the layerbreak inherent in the dvd structure. |

Correct I understand what you are saying. Just bringing something to your attention that can be done on disk that needs no compression or even for DL disks until Dimad puts this feature in if that is what he has planned in the future. DVDS just gives you an external option, but an extra step or two to accomplish what you want to do. |

| When you see "no" under Seamless column of the Programs pane in the middle of the blocks, it is most likely the so-called layer break flag as seen in IfoEdit and PgcEdit. To enable it, change it to "yes" by checking the Seamless playback flag. Doing this will remove the "LB flag". This is assuming that your end goal is to burn to DVD5. If you want to burn to DVD9 then leave it alone. Suppose you're using Imgburn to burn, it might display the block with the "LB flag" as a possible physical LB position, or it will display other blocks as alternative. Just so you know, there is no such thing as the layer break flag as it does not exist. It has been called this way for so long that people have the misconception that it actually exists. It is actually referred as "seamless playback linked in PCI" in IfoEdit and "seamless playback joint" in PgcEdit, all having cell type flag 8. Imgburn refers this as SPLIP. A presence of the so-called LB flag means the cell is non-seamless, and vice versa. The actual layer break position is determined by the burning app at certain LBA. |

Thanks for the great info, I guess I had just read it called the "flag" for so long, that I adopted the language Finding it and changing it in remake is good, I was just hoping we could get an "automated" way of doing it, that's why I suggested the "strip seamless branching" feature to be something like the "strip angles" currently is, a right click and blammo! it's gone lol. |
