My problem is I keep getting failure to open file message from shrink on the files created by ConvertX containg the VTS files ....anybidy figure out what I am doing wrong here...any help greatly appreciated Cheers from down under |

| Convertx to DVD converts the files and burns them to a disk for you with out using DVD shrink. I don't quite understand your problem. I use convert x to dvd and dvd shrink together. xtodvd converts the files .(i don't have it set to delete the files after a burn nor do i have it set to automatically burn the files) so it leaves the files in the folder i choose once Xtodvd i completed i close it down open dvd shrink and create and ISO, you browse to folder that has your movie in it. DVD shrink Picks it up the rest. So i do not fully understand were your going wrong |

| On many occasions, with several versions of ConvertX, I've experienced problems when trying to open a converted movie in DVDShrink. Never figured out what the problem was. CloneDVD2 failed as well on many occasions. The only tool(omiting the really advanced ones such as VOBlanker) that would open the converted movie folders where Shrink/CloneDVD2 failed, was Easy DVD Clone. That's the only reason I still keep EASY DVD Clone installed. I never use it otherwise. |

hey joemailey, thanks for taking the time here,I use shrink to "shrink" the files to burn on a 4.7GB disc, so the problem I have is that once convertx produces the Video_TS file (usually bigger that 4.7GB) I then would try to getr shrink to open the file and shrink and burn the file (I use DVD Dycrpter to burn the the disc) usually keep the ISO file produced by shrink for making further quick copies. So the problem is shrink is not finding a path to open the Video_TS files ,which I note revolver has had the same problem again thanks for taking the time |

| camarienz - if you are using LATEST version of ConvertXtoDVD and use DVD5 setting - it will NOT be bigger thatn the amount that fits to DVD5. |

I am using latest version of convertx and loading into shrink to make iso files without issues. What we need is an convert to iso option in convertx once we have viewed the video_ts folder to make sure it plays ok @ the users who are experiencing issues, are you on the latest version from vso website? Could you please provide a log file so that we can check you have the latest version we have which seems to work fine ? This logfile can also alert us to many things that may be hindering your progress in dvdshrink |

| i have funny feel there going directly to the video_ts folder. instead of just the name of the movie. say convert the a movie named TESTING when you go to open it in Dvd Shrink you click on the folder called TESTING inside testing there audio & video folder. you open the testing folder it fines the rest. BUT dont go striaght in and select the Video ts folder. |

| I have no problems with DVDShrink 3.2. I can open folder containing video_ts or video_ts directly, no problem. However; new versions of CovnertXtoDVD are producing code that for some reason is not accepted by TMPGEnc DDV Author. Older conversions work fine. Sadly I can't find info on what version did this change. |

| I've had the same problem. But I've got a working solution to shrink it with CloneDVD (because clonedvd has the best quality in my opinion). 1. Open the converted DVD folder with DVD-Shrink 3.2. 2. Backup the full disc. 3. When the program is backing up, pause it. 4. Now open the DVD with CloneDVD and strange enough it does work now. This works for me. |

| If you convert ONE episode and get pixelation - your original file is too low quality. Still, read FAQ. |

| You can't fit more than 4-6 episodes; depending on original lenght and quality. Fitting more will drop quality too much. |

| If you are simply trying to fit all the episodes into one DVD, then you do not need DVD Shrink. Simply set the Size Limit in options to a lower value like 3500MB and ConvertXToDVD will make the DVD. I fit around 12-13 DVD-Ripped AVI clips into a DVD of 3700MB and it looked fine on my DVD Player. Total is about 280 minutes, so 4 hours and 40 minutes. I am guessing you can fit 5 hours of length into a 3700MB without losing much quaility, after that it is hard to keep quality. But remember, my clips were DVD-Rips. |
