Real (Interleaved) Seemless Branching

As I have seen, after reauthoring several Seemlessly Branched DVDs, DRMP does support the importing, editing and exporting of Seemlessly Branched DVDs. Now, the only needed option left about this, is to create Seemlessly Branched DVDs without importing exisiting ones. Just for example. I want to author a DVD with two versions of my movie. The differences between them are at several places in the movie, not only the end or the beginning. Meaning, I have 30 blocks of the movie. Two PGCs used - One, with 28 blocks. Two, with 25 blocks. The second one uses 23 blocks from the first PGC plus two blocks which are different. Now, if I do it the regular way (subtitute blocks and everything), it will create a slight (or not that slight) pause while trying to reach those different blocks (or blocks that were skipped too, I imagine) in the second PGCs. But with the interleaving option, no pause should happen. I have searched the forum for Seemless Branching options and found out (and tested it myself) that DRMP does recognize interleaved blocks and can even export them correctly, but I see no option to interleave not pre-interleaved blocks. If there is an option to do that and I am not aware of it, please enlight me. :) If not, well, here is a suggestion for you people. :) (Sorry for my bad English as I am not a native English speaker.)

Welcome to the forum, phistuck. Interleaving is the task for multiplexor (the thing which puts multiple streams together and chops them into VOBUs). It is a quite complicated task by itself. DRMp does not have it (yet?). Take a look at Muxman (http://www.mpucoder.com).

Thank you for your reply! Are you planning on going to the next level with DVDRemakePro to make it a multiplexor too? I mean, if the user would have the option to put new subtitles or new audios into movies (say, I bought a movie in the US and it has no subtitles for my language and I want to add subtitles I found over the internet (and made them be DVD compliant subtitles)) and author multi-angles (but that requires close GOPs which I understand is an encoder-related process, is it?) and seemlessly branched DVDs, DRMP would be the ultimate ReMake application. You see, these operations are all part of remaking a DVD. :) I tried MuxMan and it is very unexplained. But I tried playing with that for a few hours and it does not seem to accomplish any seemless branching at all. It even disables the seemless flags for all the cells when it should not. Could it be that ILVU is something only the encoder can create? Thanks again.

Maybe in your search, you may have come across this: Poor man's seamless branching with DvdReMake. It is an imitation of true seamless branching by re-ordering the blocks such that you will not notice any pause. I think you might notice a slight pause as the block size increases. MuxMan Premium version supports seamless branching so you may want to try that.

Thank you. Is there another way of doing it? To create ILVu-ed blocks? Because, as you said, as the block size increases, a slight pause may occour.

The only way to create real ILVU blocks is to use a real multiplexor. If you read the last post, rubicat mentioned keeping the cell to under 50MB, the slight pause will disappear. Of course, you have to test this on several of your standalones to find out. Just burn it to RW. You don't have to burn the whole DVD, just hide unneeded blocks to reduce size. Easy way to reduce the size is by splitting at appropriate section, and reordering the blocks when done. Update: another similar discussion is found here.
