all you should need to do is right click and use the merge option, if this isn't working for you please email support with the same info you pm'ed me with, make sure you include the email you used to purchase. support@vso-software.fr

I just rec'd registry key and am having the same problem - there are no instructions on what to do with zip/unzipped registry key file. No code is produced when unzipped only a registry file. Clicking on merge only produces a warning message [quote="Crangelus"]Hello I have downloaded the zip contatining the key code and also saved it in normal format to my pc. I tried calling customer service but they are only order takers. It would seem that either we're not very smart about such things or they sent the wrong file. I even went as far as viewing the hex code and converting to decimal in several different variations of numbers with no success. Sent in email to support - I hope they answer soon - other than this problem I love the trial program

The key is what you are mergeing, right click and merge, if it doesn't work email support at support@vso-software.fr. We have been having some trouble with keys, no problems just email support and the problem will be fixed, we worked on it last night to get the problem solved. You will not see an actual key number for this version like you did the last, just this registry entry is all. It is this you need to save to floppy.

Hopefully this won't mess with your real registration and make copy3 think you once used a hacked key or keygen. It could cause registration problems.

I think my problem was solved by updating from ver 2 to 3. this was not suggested previously or anywhere on web site as a possible issue. Thanks

Dear Sir, Madam, Thank you for purchasing a CopyToDvd 3 license. Your unlock key has been associated with the following details
Hmm pretty self explanatory to me, says right on the email accompanying the registration. So I don't see how it could be an issue?

Maybe it is obvious for those who are just now using the product and starting with ver 3 but for me (and I expect many others who have had many issues to deal with on dvd), once i found a product that worked (ver 2) all i wanted to do was license it. I have updated other programs before only to find out it no longer works - therefore for me it was an issue as i didn't necessarily want to move up to ver 3 (at least not until I was sure i could fall back to a working ver 2). That being said it appears that the update is working just fine - thanks for you help.

I, too, am having difficulty. My demo version of Copy2DVD had expired. I registered and got the zip file, unzipped it and merged it into the registry. Now, I boot up Copy2DVD and I still get the red screen that wants me to enter a key number - but I received no key number, only the registry entry. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? My email is bobinlv@usa.com I would be very grateful for any assistance. Bob Sage

please follow the directions on the main page of the main VSO site, http://www.vso-software.fr, there are expicit instructions on how to rectify the problem. It is possible that you too have downloaded copy2dvd and not the new version of it copy3.

Hi, Deborah from support wrote and explained that I was trying to unlock a trial version of Copy2DVD, so I went to the site and downloaded and installed Ver. 3.0.3.9 - re-ran the key code and am still getting the message "This is not free..... you have 20 days" I can't seem to get the program to realize I installed the keycode into the registry. Great software program (obviously if I spent $40 on it) but this whole security and registration procedure leaves a lot to be desired. Reading the above posts, no one ever mentioned that there was a trial version of the program which could not be unlocked, and another version that could. I wonder how many, like me, keep trying to get that trial version to accept the code, when in fact they need to get the functioning version of the program? None of this is mentioned either above or explained on the website for the product. This could be handled better, I think. Well, I hope tech support replies and tells me how to get this new version to accept the keycode so I can get on with business and stop hammering on this issue. Thanks Bob Sage

what is the email address you used to email support? As far as I know, we don't have any Deborah. answering support mails, one of 4 people will respond. Did you download copytodvd with another application or was it included free with a third party applicaion? Any trial version can be unlocked, there is no difference in what you download as far as functionality, the only restriction is the trial period is 21 days, if you purchase a key then it unlocks the trial version and removes the 21 day time limit nothing more and no difference, now it is possible you caught us in the middle of an upgrade then there is a difference because the whole application has been redone and the keys for the last version do not work in the new version. Everything is as it should be. Now if you downloaded copytodvd from with-in another application, then you need to get with thats applications support channel.

This is the email I received. I downloaded both the trial version and the new V3.0.3.9 from www.vso-software.fr BEGIN "element 5 (cs)" <support@us.element5.com> To: Robert Sage < bobinlv@usa.com> CC: Subject: Re: What unlock code? - Refno: 5410262 Date: Wed, 31 Mar 2004 22:47:12 C -0500 Dear Mr. Sage, Did you have a trial version on the machine when you installed the full version? It sounds as if this may have been the case. When you download the zip file and it asks if it can copy to your registry, it is copying the license key there. It normally would not be asking for a number. If, however, you still had a trial version running, it would. Look for this then uninstall the trial. If it doesn't work uninstall both programs and start over. If it still doesn't work you can contact the publisher for more intensive technical support @ http://www.vso-software.fr Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Sincerely, Deborah Your element 5 team __________________________________________________________________ element 5 - the e-way of software at http://www.element5.com ***** element 5 Germany - France - Italy - Sweden - UK - USA ***** END Your response before "please follow the directions on the main page of the main VSO site, http://www.vso-software.fr, there are expicit instructions on how to rectify the problem." This site changed in the last day, as those instructions were not there yesterday when I sent in payment and started this whole thing. Perhaps I did get a code that does not work. I would guess it should work with the new version I just downloaded though. I am really confused by all this. Sorry to be such a pain, Bob Sage
