|

| Hiya, I found this site through a search on google and I'm really hoping you can help. I've been using WinAVI for ages now and it's always worked great. But I've just formatted my PC and reinstalled everything and now I've got problems. I've got WinAVI v7.7 and K-Lite Mega Codec Pack v1.59 installed but now when ever I convert a .avi file to SVCD (MPEG) the sound is screwed. It's hard to explain but I'd guess it would be discribed as static or white noise. Like when you don't tune an analouge TV in to a channel and it just hisses at you. Can anyone offer a suggestion to resolve this issue or maybe a better bit of software to quickly and easily convert files or maybe even a better codec pack? PLEASE before I go insane! Thanks for any help or advice. Sy |

| Sy, I add this as comfort only as I have no solution (yet) but do share your precise problem, re-format, re-instal, winavi 7.7, make any form of VCD and get white noise. The only point we seem to differ on is codecs - I dont use packs. I have Emailed Winavi and hope for a solution. It must be something we had before that we have not re-installed thus far. Good luck. |

| I have now resolved the problem. It appears to lie within WinAvi7.7. Uninstall it, delete any folders/files left in C:\program files\winavi converter and then re-install any older version you may have. I am now happily working with V7.6. If you dont have an older version go to a torrent site like Isohunt and you will find copies there. Your registration info will be valid for these older files. I am still baffled about one thing and that is I am convinced I was using V7.7 to make KVCDs before I re-formatted my hard disk. |
