First portion of the user guide is now available. User guide describes program interface and wil be accompanied by various "how-to" guides which describe how to achieve a particular task in DvdReMake. Any comments/suggestions? Added on Sep 07: A nice guide by vurbal "...After promising it for the last couple of months, my first DVD ReMake guide is now up: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvdremake_tutorial.cfm " Added on Jul 30: Guide by Undercover Dancer: The dummies guide to a perfect DVD backup In this guide I will try to share “my way” of backing up a DVD. If you will keep in mind the fact that there is no perfect “holy grail” for that, and remember that this is “my quest” and “my favorite color”, then, I hope you will enjoy it. This easy and fun to read guide provides a detailed description of the DvdReMake functionality. Wink presentation by Mirx: Tracing DVD navigation A nice presentation by Mirx which will be appreciated by thouse who are trying to find their way through DVD navigation. The only problem with it - is its size ~1Mb . Added on Apr 26: Guide by Sophia: http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremake/extra_guide_insert_disk_2.php "In this guide I'll show you in general how to split a movie and add an "Insert Disk 2 To Continue" still frame while keepping the original menus." This is a Flash presentation (~360K). Added on Apr 04: It is not as straigtforward to fit these into DimadSoft page layout, so here two more presentations in the form they were submitted. Thanks a lot fellows, hope others will enjoy them as well! Guide by Rimmer: http://www.dimadsoft.com/other/rm/index.html "In this guide I'm going to take out the extras on this disc leaving me with just the main movie with just play movie, scene selection and languages menus, removing special features menu and the menus that preceed it together with the movie cells, along with the directors commentary. The basis of this guide can be modified to whatever you would like to remove or keep." Guide by Kedirekin: http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremake/extra_guide_bypass_cells.php "When you hide a number of consecutive cells in a title, it can result in a few seconds of blackness. This isn't much of an issue when the hidden cells come after the video, but can be irritating when they come before the video (when you hit play all on disk two of a split title, for example). This guide presents one approach to bypass the hidden cells so that the pause before playback is virtually nonexistent." This is a Flash presentation (~130K). Note: This a modified version of the guide posted here. This one take advantage of the features added in DvdReMake 1.4 Added on Mar 29: Guide by Goldfinger_007: http://www.dvd-secrets.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=35450 Same guide on DvdReMake site "Having a backup of my dvd collection is relatively straight forward these days with various programs available to compress the disc content. But because i own the original - i don't want to be bothered by having to watch trailers that can only be fast forwarded through (increasingly common with Universal DVDs), warnings about copyright in every european language, and the same studio logo repeated throughout the process of trying to get to watch the film!! I'm also not too bothered about including the extra content (after all, it's still on my original) - which means that when it comes to repeat viewing of the film - the original can stay on the shelf (minimising wear and tear / fingerprints etc.) and i can look forward to the best quality possible (as near to the original anyway)."

SirQUK is it ok with the rules of the cdr-zone? Anyway, I got a permission from goldfinger_007, and will put a copy of his guide on dvdremake site. |

| Rimmer and kedirekin have submitted nice guides. Thanks a lot. Some minor changes needed to fit them into DimadSoft's page layout, but guides will appear soon on DvdReMake site. |

| I thought the bypass guide by Kedirekin was well done. However, I just think it is simpler to change the enrty point of the cell 1 of the PGC to match the starting chapter of disc 2. It just one very simple step. |

For beginners though, Kedrekins guide explains a bit more about what can be done. Its in the eye of the beholder which way will proof more useful to them:) We need to list all these tips in one easy to find place like a users FAQ...If we get more suggestions and tips, i will create a thread where users submitted tips can be placed and make it a sticky... again i await what dimad thinks of this b4 i decide to do it |
