Hi
I bought this dvd yesterday, but it has some authoring errors, which I find un-acceptable that the manufacturer has not seen before selling it.
1. None of the chapter selections seems to work
2. When in setup menu, pressing "play movie makes it hit main menu
3. When in setup menu, pressing Main menu makes it play movie
There might be a few other errors on the dvd....
Any chance for help here on step by step, what to do to fix these errors.
Here are the "test output" from orginal dvd:
****Removed*****
Thanx in advance for helping
/Julius

For the setup menu, you just need to switch the link between the Main Menu and Play Movie selection. Specifically, in menu PGC 12 and 20, switch post-command #13 and #18.
For the chapter menu, look in the Buttons pane. Do you see what button command for the chapter buttons are: NOP? This means to do nothing. That's why it doesn't work. Even if you change it to match with the Play Movie button command, you're still not going anywhere. Also, the chapter button numbers are not in order, making them not match with the chapter number. e.g. Chapter one is button #4, so if you press this button it will go to chapter 4. You can reorder the button number by exporting the buttons, changing them manually in the file and importing the file back in; OR simply fix the post commands.
To fix the chapter menus:
1. In menu PGC 9, Buttons pane, change ALL "NOP" to "LinkTailPGC".
2. In the Post Commands pane, change ALL "Link PGC 9" to "Jump VMG PGC 3". This is to jump to the movie in VTS3.
3. Change ALL R[4] to R[5]. As for the assignment number, change it to refer to the correct chapter number. e.g. R[4]=1 becomes R[5]=2 (button 1 refers to chapter 2).
4. Another instance of the same chapter menu is in menu PGC 11, change ALL button commands "NOP" to "Link PGC 21".
5. Go to PGC 21, the post commands has the same layout as PGC 9's. Repeat steps 2&3 with the exception of changing "Link PGC 11" to "Jump VMG PGC 3".
6. In VMG PGC 3, add pre-command "Jump VMG Title 3" to jump to the movie.
And you're done!
Tip: Practice using the debugger in step mode and notice how the navigation flows and the registers and system registers change. This will help you out in the long run. |
